Whos on First?
I was watching a video on youtube, from the History Channel about the Amtrak Empire Builder. At one point the showed the Chicago Union station Yard.
The zoomed in on the Empire Builder.
But on the next track there was another(what looked like) Amtrak consist. The last car appeared to be a Hiawatha Superdome Lounge car. Could that be? I did not think Amtrak used them?
Here is a link the the video on youtube:

Go to between 11 minutes and 11 minutes 5 seconds.

It was most likely a private car, occasionally people rent a car then pay Amtrak to hitch a ride. If you have enough money to that let me in on your secrets...

ya that would be a PV. If it was Amtrak's Great Dome it would be in Amtrak Colors (it actually just got repainted into the Anniversary Phase III)

I can only tell but what was in the video. It looks like a Hiawatha Superdome Lounge car. I guess my question should have been "are there any of them in shape to be used as a private car?

The priv car, might be being used by (History Channel
) for filming and a place to sleep..When the train came through here-it had a camara mounted on the back and what not.. Defanatly used for crew etc
