Is TANE build 75974 really the shipping product?

My expectation is that the shipped routes would run on a mid-range machine. ECML doesn't do too well on mine, at default settings, Xeon so the equivalent of an i7, 12 gigs of memory and a HD5850. its misty, the track is detailed for about 3 metres in front of the loco, the EMU, the scenery is jerky, and on reaching a junction the rails simply disappear.

Sorry guys but no cigar.

I'm not the only one with a 'fog' problem then :(.

i7 3770K. 32 GB RAM, GeForce GTX670 2GB latest driver (350.12), Win 7 Pro.

i wish to know:

- message window is not possible to open, is this a bug or something else
- where is freeintcam
- QPM v2/v3 don't work in tane, will it be updated or it's the end of support
- will all rules from TS12 be updated or no
- when the promised package 'update assets' will arrive, or it's already included in 75947

I have the problem with fog too. I start a new session in ECML, it's impossible to set the fog. I presume that reason is builtin route ( no edit)

While the 5850 is over 5 years old, I would expect it to still run Trainz... Is T:ANE well optimised and just requires the resources to get to most out of it? Or is it the same story again where it just doesn't run well for the graphical fidelity it provides...

High speed storage usually helps however, it would be nice if anyone could provide a viewpoint as to how well these large routes operate from an SSD.

Jack.

I have an SSD.

that 5850 does poorly with Battlefield 3 and 4, and hardline, so I would assume it is going to not allow you to turn up all settings beyond low or middle. If there was an equivalent of "Ultra" like the games I mentioned, that card would need to be removed and replaced with 7xxx series AMD or 9xx series nvidia for the best results. I'm currently halfway through installing on my i7 with 980m on my Republic of Gamers ASUS Laptop, soon see how this goes.

And, I thought I read about patch or update to be applied after installed. When or if I get that done, is it still going to be 75947 build?

I've got an i7 860 and HD 5870 with 8GB of DDR3 RAM - is TANE GPU-centred? ie. if I had to upgrade anything, I should invest in a new video card? Then maybe I could switch the shadows on! Any views about an AMD card to upgrade to?

The conventional wisdom says your card is quite respectable. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html however I strongly suspect that TANE is optimised towards the nVidia GTX 970 / 980. In 2016 both AMD and nVidia are releasing GPU cards with a different memory structure. AMD are supposed to be releasing new cards Q2 2015 and there is a new HP desktop that has one that is supposed to be on sale for the back to school market in September.

So for the moment I suggest you stick with no shadows and wait to see what is announced over the summer.

Well I received my Boxed Collector Edition version this morning Version 74702 (Much quicker that the download!) . Cheer up folks you still have a lot of downloads to do despite the hard copy, and it's only the beginning . During the early phase of Beta testing I was concerned about the lengths of time it takes to load a scenario. That was during the Beta testing. The harsh reality is that it takes 7 full minutes to load the English country site and then near impossible to successfully drive the scenario , all configuration where set to a minimum . My computer is pretty up to date and with 8Gb Ram I run into 99% usage and a CPU at 35%, which is ok for the CPU)
So in a nutshell what is the use of having all those gadgetry of " the experience of a New Era in Trainz " when you need a Super computer to run it . I think a lot of fans will be disappointed about the byte hungry of this program Basically to run on an average machine is very useless.
Cheers
