What is better about TRS 2010 that 2009 doesn't have? Do the new features outway the price? Are the graphics better than 2009? I was really desipionted with TRS2009 as I thought that they updated all the graphics.

best regards

thanks for your time

I think 2010 is very much worth the money. The graphics are much improved and you notice this more, when you have used to 2010 and then back track to 2009.

I also find more older content works better in 2010, than it did in 2009.

The whole user interface is so much better.
:)

Layers & speedtreez are also new features for TS2010.
The layers feature is really useful & should be kept in all future versions except in options. Put the world thing back.
Speedtreez are another thing. I like them but would like to have a slider to ajust speed. Others think they are rubbish.
Check out the TS2010 forum under Matinence of Way.

Just my tupence

Its only worth it if you get a boxed edition. I ordered a download edition for a friend from auran last night and have been attempting to download the files all day today (8 hours) the auran server now has me down to 4.5 KBS for the last two files. I have a lifetime ticked and fast broadband and live in the same city as Aurans servers, what hope do the rest of you have?

Your absolutely right.I have tested the response time on several servers, and Aurans is absolutely pathetic, compared to some others

Funny, I was able to download the files in like 2 hours here in Michigan. Although, that was like a month or two ago.

I'm sure for the money... I'm unsure about purchasing just yet, unless someone can answer my question..

How does it cope with previous installations? All the content moving?
When I bought TS09 I went through many many hours of importing all my old content.. I don't really want to have to do this again.. is there an easier way with TS10?

Thanks

It works fine, just archive the TS2009 non built in corrected content then bring it into TS2010.

Cheerio John

Isn't that similiar to how it was done before, which took many hours?
Whats this 'Add in' (or something) feature i've read of?

Aurans download servers are based somewhere in the USA, where the bandwidth is a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the post if anyone else has a opinion on TRS 2010:EE and really thinks its a improvement from 2009 then please post. I'm still in the deciding stage.

I definitely think it's an improvement over 2009. (it's not perfect, by any means, but it is certainly an improvement over 2009. IMHO)... SP2 should sort out a few of the niggles). Rumour has it that we will be able to control the wind speed - shaking of the branches in speedtrees sometime this year.
More speed-trees are being made by 3rd parties content creators and will be down-loadable into 2010. Overall, I find 2010 more polished than 2009. I guess it's just the further evolution of the Trainz sim...

(I hope we don't end up with a 2009 versus 2010 debate, like we did with 2004 versus 2006).
If you are into UK routes, then EMCL is a very good, well detailed, long route. They certainly have improved CMP 3.2 (big improvement. Far easier to download & sort things out).
If you can afford it now, I'd recommend you get it. (as John mentions above, keep an eye out for people willing to give away their 20% discount vouchers). If money is tight, I'd hold off until SP2. (hopefully it shouldn't be to far away).
Cheers, Mac...
