Is it possible to have Trainz 22+ open at My Content instead of Purchases

Why doesn't the list revert to the last used setting? (The Computer does the work so I don't have too. This is also a bone of contention with Microsoft, more clicks with less results.)

More clarity needed in your question, please.

Which list? Content Manager, Trainz Store or Routes/Session in the Driver/Surveyor selection?

As a guess do you mean the line of routes with coloured bars (at the top of their thumbnails) when you select the Driver/Surveyor option from the Trainz Main Window? If so then no, the list will always default to that view. I always start by typing in the first few letters of a search request in the Search text box at the top of the screen. This narrows down the list.

If it helps take a look the Trainz Wiki page at Route_and_Session_Basics.

Those screens are meant to be an online store interface as well as seeing installed content. So the powers that be chose to default to the purchased filter setting. Compared to the Content Store interface, it works better at giving the user more information about what items you are about to install.

If you don't play Trs 22 often the you start trains see top of screen routes then to the left purchased. This what I would like to change because it forces another unnecessary click by me. much easier if it reverts to the last setting. I don't open trains 22 GOLD PASS to purchase items every time I open it as I go to My Content. Its like the Navigate to command to many menus.

I do more creating than purchasing!

Yes what I haven't purchased also so it is advertising pure & simple so why can't it be change to last used.

I really don't see this as a major issue worthy of N3V dropping everything else to "fix" when nothing is actually broken. It has never bothered me but, obviously, it does bother some users.

My preferred method of loading routes and session into Driver and Surveyor these days is to use Content Manager, not the Surveyor/Driver main screen.

I have created a CM filter for all my current routes and sessions. After starting CM I:-
  1. load the filter then
  2. right click the route/session I need then
  3. select the option Open then
  4. select the relevant option (Open Asset in Driver or Edit Asset in Surveyor) from the drop down menu.
The same drop down also gives me quick access to editing the config.txt file and opening the route/session in Explorer.

I'm disappointed that 22 doesn't remember the "installed" setting i use every time I run the program. If I want to see my purchased routes, I can change it myself.

I admit I'm often annoyed that doing things in the modern versions of Trainz takes more mouse clicking than it did in older versions.

As for why it doesn’t remember the last tab you used, the answer appears to be: because it doesn’t.
The software simply doesn’t store that state, and it makes no particular effort to pretend otherwise.
So each launch begins with Purchases, whether or not you’ve ever wanted to see Purchases in your life.
Clicking over to My Content remains a daily ritual, like brushing your teeth or dismissing Windows Update prompts.
If N3V ever adds a “remember last tab” option, it will be a notable event.

So, to answer the question, sure... it is possible.
Is it implemented to do so? Nope.
It would be a matter of the programming altered to achieve this.
That is not a user feature available now, it is something NV3 has to do.

I agree with the OP, it's a pain in the rear end. Needs an option to set default launch tab.
That was something I asked for when Tony replied to the thread saying that the menu is WIP.
I think I had also asked for a recently used tab. That would be more useful once we've started using the program a lot especially when working on a route and session for months at a time.

At least a bookmark or something, right?
