Steam has updated my Trainz 12 installation. Now drawing the scenery takes seconds even on an older route such as Settle and Carlisle, and Norfolk & Western Appalachian Coal route is so bad it's (for me) unplayable. Whether I use D3D or OpenGL make no appreciable difference.
System is an i5-3570 3.4GHz with 8GB ram and a 1GB GeForce GTX 650 Ti running Windows 7 64bit. Not top of the range, but at 1400x900 I can run pretty much everything with the graphics maxed out. If I run Settle and Carlisle on the same machine as a stand alone (Trainz 2009 engine) then drawing the scenery is quick enough that I doubt I would notice if I wasn't looking for it. I might add that Trainz 2010 runs better on my laptop!
My apologies if this has been asked before but, is this a known issue, is it being addressed, and are there any work arounds?
