installing Settle and Carlisle add-on into Trainz 2010

Gone for good~
I just bought the DLC Settle and Carlisle add-on from the www.simulatorcentral.com store earlier this afternoon. Now that its completely downloaded to my pc and saved in the downloads folder, how do I install it to my current install of Trainz 2010 build 49933?

You may have problems there, depending on how N3V are doing things with that addon. Basically though, you should have an installer file which you run and tell it where your Trainz is installed.

You may have to add the file extension to the S&C's setup file; this is of course '.exe'.

Then run the installer and point it to the TS2010 folder and onto Trainz.exe. It will then install the add-on into TS2010.

On the support website (http://settleandcarlisle.co.uk/) there is a patch which you should also download and install. It fixes the cars on the roads. To apply the patch also point it to Trainz.exe inside the TS2010 folder.

Once the add-on is installed and the patch applied, go to Options on the Launcher, go to the General tab, and make sure the serial number for S&C is entered into the list.

Hi

Once you have it installed and patched up, navigate to the TS2010 folder, and open the Built In folder. You should see the snc.ja file so make a copy of it and save the copy somewhere safe. In the event of having to reinstall at some point, or needing to add it to TS12 pre SP1, it will just be a case of copying and pasting the snc.ja file back over, adding the serial number and doing an EDR to get it all back in which saves quite a bit of time.

I have done the same thing with all of my pre TS12 SP1 DLC content and this method lets you install it all very quickly and just requires one EDR once it is all copied and pasted into the Built In folder.

When I attempt to run the file, it asks me "What app do you want to open this file with?" I choose 'look for another app on this pc' and go to my program files, the find my auran>TS2010 folder and click the Trainz icon in that folder. It then opens Trainz and runs it. This is where I am confused. Do I download it through the content updates while Trainz is running, or is there another way? And I am not sure how to add the .exe to the SnC Installer file.

Stick the mouse over the file, right click, rename and just add .exe on the end
Or
Right click then Properties and change it in the General tab, again add .exe

Thanks Malc. I think renaming it with the .exe has fixed it, its running the setup now. So within a few minutes I should know whats going on.

Installation successful! Renaming the file with the .exe extension was what I needed to do to install it into Trainz 2010. Its now successfully installed to my pc and shows up in the routes tab when Trainz is launched.
