In Washington DC

Hello,

Yep. I'm in the capitol. Our hotel is right next to a Metro station called "Rosslyn" I was impressed how the metro was insanely clean! All the stations are the same though. We went to places like the Smithsonian, Lincoln Memorial, Newseum, Washington Monument, White House, and Arlington Cemetery.

I also have a few pictures! I wasn't able to take video because of the tight security they have, and the metro photos are dark. :(

Anyways, I had an AWESOME time! I'm going back to Philadelphia for Easter Sunday tomorrow.

Tight is too loose of a word for their security. Last time I rode DC's metro carrying a (still) camerabag and a tripod, there was always a Metro cop within 50' of me, just in case I tried to set up for a picture. :o

But I still have a couple of good pictures inside the Gallery Place station.

I've taken plenty of photos in the Metro and have never once been stopped, their official photographers guide states that photography is permitted as long as you dont use a tripod as it obstructs the flow of people.

I'm not sure about video for personal use but a couple of friends and myself rode the entire system in one day last summer, and filmed the whole thing, was not stopped once, although was told we were being watched by the transit police at Silver Spring (as if to intimidate us). It didn't work.

I'd go for it if you want to to be honest.
