Impulse daily deal : N3V Games 50% off ( except Trainz 12 )

Why do you say older games when you only have TS2009? I suppose I get what you mean though as you don't have TS12.

I'd say get TS12, but take advantage of getting Settle and Carlisle cheap because its one of the best packages for Trainz if you like UK stuff, especially considering the assets contained and the host of other assets you can get from its website.

Thanks for letting us know of this though, looks like I can finally get the Duchess for a good price!!!!!

Is Settle and Carlisle compatible with Trainz 12 ?

Yup, installs right into it :).

Maybe he means TC1, TC2 and TC3? They're 'older' and at £2.99 probably pretty tempting...

I've not got TC1+2 so not sure about them, but if you wanted TC3, i'd rather go with Settle and Carlisle as its all of TC3 but updated for later versions and with additional content, its almost like it obsoletes TC3.

Not sure about TC, but, if you're seriously considering the Blue Comet and the Duchess, you're going to need TS2010 patched to SP3 (43434) at least. All DLC works out of the box with both TS2010 and TS12 except TS12 has some minor issues with the Contz container pack.

I would buy TS2010 for the routes alone - there are 30 or so, including some really nice ones like a maglev route. I would definitely get TS12 too because it's got some sweet new ones, but if I had to choose, TS2010 would win.

I saw Railworks 2 DLCs on Steam , and i'd like to ask : Can i find all those trains and other content on the Download Station ?

There are far more pieces of content made for Trainz than for RW. If you have a question about a specific piece, please post it.

I took a quick look and I believe most if not all of it is on the DLS. The UP loco, that yellow-blue loco, etc. though I don't know what it is offhand. If you have specific railway or loco names, someone might be able to tell you for certain. I strongly advise, however, against buying anything on Steam, including Trainz, due to the DRM. The same may apply to Impulse - some things are apparently DRMed, some aren't. But I'm wary of any service that requires me to download some third-party software rather than the game I paid for.

My suggestion is either TS2010, or TS12 with DLC, or both. You probably don't really need any of the others from earlier on (I may well have gotten lost with content imports over the years, but I think between TS09 and TS10 you should have most older content).

And RRsignal is correct-avoid Steam whenever you can, especially for games you want to mod or DL stuff for. Perhaps I am unfair to Steam, as my first experience with it was terrible (I bought Dawn of War 2 disked, but Steam decided to DL the entire game or something, and due to my slow connection at the time it was a few days before I could even play it!), and I have gotten some good deals from it too (Company of Heroes and Left 4 Dead/L4D2 were dirt cheap when I got them!). Point is, avoid Steam and similar DRM-heavy services (anything that doesn't install games into normal folder like [C/program files/game] or my custom place [c/games]. I suggest GamersGate.

Please help me to clear this.

If i buy Trainz 12 will i get all the routes from the previous versions ( Trainz 2009 WBE , Trainz 2010 EE ) or just the new ones ?

Can i download the new routes ( Trainz 12 ) from the Download Station , if i only buy Trainz 2010 EE and these add-ons http://www.auran.com/shop/display_product.php?PID=234(Settle and Carlisle , Murchison 2 , Blue Comet and Duchess ) ?

You will only get the new routes. The legacy content may be able to be downloaded from the DLS.

No, you won't be able to download the new routes. It seems your decision has been made for you in that regard.

No you don't get routes from previous versions but you can add 2010's ja files to TS12 and get them that way. 2009 builtin routes you could save to cdp and import however you will probably have to find a lot of missing builtin dependencies not included in TS12. Builtin 2010 routes are not available for download.

No you cannot download TS12 routes and add to 2010 they are not compatible and are not available for download anyway.

Trainz 2010 EE > Trainz 12 , more content > fancy graphics ? By the way : Is there any community project to make Trainz 2010 EE visually nicer ?
