The problem is passwords etc can be stolen this certainly applies to IE7 and probably applies to earlier versions. If you wish to continue to use Internet Explorer I would recommend you do not use it for credit cards or accessing bank accounts on line. If you have been using IE you may wish to change your Auran passwords.
The vulnerability was found after hackers had already stolen passwords.
The report lists other safer browsers the link for Firefox is below.

 Microsoft issued no less than twelve security vulnerability updates for all Microsoft utilities including IE-7, Excel Viewer, Word Viewer, Works 8, six for Vista, one week ago on December 9, 2008. Two updates for Windows Defender on 12/12 & today, 12/16.
