I was wrong sound problem still exists

There is a bad volume level in the Trs2010 as far as the engine's acceleration is concerned. The volume is to low for the steam engines and other locomotives. And that is intrigrated into the Trs2010 code and can not be fixed without another service pack. I have tried everything and the sound is to low after the loco is moving. Increasing the acceleration knob raises the volume temperarly but not very much and then fades off to almost no sound at all. If this problem was fixed with a patch I would give this Trs2010 an awseome A+ as everything else has been fixed including very smooth frame rates and good draw distance since the last Sp3 update.

The Blue Comet did not fix the poor Trs2010 sounds

The Blue Comet did not fix the poor Trs2010 sounds. The Blue Comet is not correct with it's sound pyhsics and is way wrong! There are to be 2 chugs for every complete revolution of the large driver wheel when power is applied and they have set up 4 chugs, also at high speed it sounds like a sewing maching, and that is not acceptible for Payware content. Also the steam is very bad for realizism. I have freeware that is way better than the Blue Comet's steam.

I gather from what I've read that Trainz in general is notorious for it's sound issues.

Sound has never been a good thing in Trainz. I turn my volume down and enjoy the scenery. It beats listening to the sowing machines or the vacuum cleaners.

It has been my experience that reducing your sound hardware acceleration to 3/4 or less and adding a dedicated sound card to your system helps to offset any Trainz related sound issues.
