I'm trying to fix a few assets for a route I downloaded. I have been making quite a lot of progress, but there are a few asset files which I have no clue how to fix. I was hoping that someone could take a look and help me:

For the level crossings, find a level crossing that does work, open it for edit. Find the faulty ones, open them for edit. In explorer, open your editing folder so you can see the 4 asset folders. Open the good one and copy the level_crossing.gs file to each of the faulty ones. Back in Content Manager, commit them all. This should do it.

It worked! Thank you.

Hello,

For the ones referring to textures, I made this little video that should help.

Kieran.
I assume for files like red.texture is just like in your video (red instead of black), but what about texture files like env_metal.texture and ob boat.texture? Also, when I followed you video I get a new error "The texture 'red.tga' failed to load".

env_metal.texture is common to all locos. As before with the level crossings, only this time with a loco that is OK. Find the env_metal.tga (or .bmp) and the env_metal.texture.txt files and copy them. Or alternatively, just the env_metal.texture.

I don't know about the ob boat.texture, but presumably the same with a boat instead of a loco, but that is assuming all boats have this texture. Try one with the same author.

Hope this helps

I'm having trouble locating a loco with those files, any idea where to look?

I've just looked in my TS12 install, and found 2 built-in locos, ATSF SD40-2 and ATSF F7B, which have it. This is env_metal.texture, so forgtet about the .tga and texture.txt files. One word of caution - never, ever Commit a built-in asset, you'll break it. Instead, R-click, Edit, Revert (NOT Commit - loud, shouting capitals). I looked for the ob boat texture while I was there, but I couldn't find it - the author is "dalliance", but none of his assets include it.

However, if you PM me your eMail address, I'll send it to you, as I have it on mine.

Good luck

I copied env_metal.texture to the offending folder, but it keeps disappearing

That's because you are reverting it and not committing it. The post you quoted was referring to built-in items, not ones downloaded form the DLS or 3rd party sites. It's OK to commit things from the DLS or a 3rd party site.

Make sure that any textures you make are saved as a 32 bit UNcompressed image.

Kieran.

Sorry mate, I don't think I can help you with these. Obviously, the wrong env_metal.texture (being for a loco). I can't find the Sodor Porters or the Watermill on mine. The only thing I can think of is to contact the author. I have the MB-bridges, but on mine those missing tags are just warnings, so the assets should still work, ignore them, for as far as I know there's no fix.
