Ok here the problem, my trainz isn't opening. I don't knwo why but its bad. i have too much content to lose. Can someone please please help me.

You'll have to be a bit more specific. What exactly is happening, or not? How far into the start up process do you get?
What does the jetlog file say?
Did anything out of the ordinary happen the last time Trainz was working? When it shut down?

Even if the program is toast, the data you created and saved should still be OK. Before doing anything else, copy your whole "world" folder to another place, another drive if it is available. For 2006, I would also copy the "local" folder. Those more familiar with 2006 better guide this issue. Good luck

well, when i tried to download that Mohawk engine cmp had this weird continue or terminate error. As for the not working process i click on it the hourglass comes up the goes away and nothing happens. what about all my content. i can't loose it.

Sounds like CMP needs to rebuild the data base or is trying to do so. When this happens to me I always do the famous Ctrl + Alt + Delete and open up the Task Manager. Then I look under Processes and look for "Content manager.exe". When content manager is rebuilding the data base, you will see the Content manager using about 40-50% of your cpu.

If you see this happening, go watch tv for a few minutes and leave your computer alone. Eventually CMP will finish the rebuild and CMP will open up normally. Someone informed me the other day that they had 70,000 plus assets and it takes their computer 2 hours to rebuild the data base. I suggested they archive about 3/4 of assets to shorten the rebuild time. Once the rebuild is complete, you will be able to run Trainz as normal.

It took me a long time to figure this process out and maybe its because I did not search the forums about CMP rebuilding the data base, but it has to do this once in a while when the data base becomes corrupted for whatever reason.

Has anyone else come up with a better way of "monitoring" CMPs activity when it is rebuilding the data base??? It would be nice if CMP somehow displayed a progress window or some type to let you know that it is working. For a long time I thought Trainz had become corrupt and I know that I actually reinstalled Trainz a couple of times before I found about the CMP rebuild process.

Good luck

Now my CMP is jsut white with a brown bar at the bototm saying no items selected on the right side and please wait appyling filter on the left side. What is wrong with cmp?

I would agree with what TheCowboy is saying. Open CMP and leave it for a while. it should straighten its self out.

Here is this weird crap, what is it? I tried what cowboy said, it didn't do nothing.

There was a thread about this before, but the gist of it is that you need to go to wherever TRS2006 is installed, and delete the assets.tdx file from the main folder and the assets.bku from the cache folder, and then open up the CMP OR Trainz and let it sit and rebuild the database.

Hope this helps!

You can try deleting the assets.tdx and the cache folder from your main Trainz folder and then let it rebuild the database ATSF, but from the error screen it looks like a software malfunction within TRS itself. Just had one like this, although it was a .dll in my case. It's possible that the contentmanager.exe file was corrupted somehow (possibly while committing some content) in which case it might require a complete reinstall, but try everything else first.
If you do reinstall, move your local folder to another location first. This is where your d/l'ed assets are kept. After uninstalling Trainz make sure to delete any leftover Trainz folders hanging out on your HD. Do a complete reinstall (including patch) and when finished run it and make sure everythings working alright. If it's all hunky-dory create a folder on the HD called BkupTrainz or whatever and copy your complete new Trainz installation into this folder, that way you always have a backup copy of Trainz that you know was working. Copy or move your local folder into your working Trainz folder and import it through CMP (this does take some time) and you should be good to go.
