I know I am real new to this ..but I cant figure out how to Decouple cars..I click on the decouple icon..the coupler turns red..info says ready to decouple..but nothing happens..what am I missing?
I know Im new but:

I have done that..the coupler tunrs red when I put the cursor over it and then doesnt do anything when I click or hit ctrl d or anything I have tried.
Gotta get an outside view, sometimes the angle is important, but hold down the CTRL and D keys with the left hand, put the mouse cursor between the cars and when it changes to a red coupler icon, click the left mouse button. Should change from a closed coupler icon to an open coupler icon.
Main thing is you have to be holding down the CTRL and D keys with one hand WHILE clicking the mouse, you don't release the keys then click.

I do that and the red coupler stays closed and goes off..nothing seems to work so far..have to get off here for a bit..giving me a headache. THANKS...any more suggestion I will check on here later.

Hey Sniper! THANKS..It will be a couple more days until I can get back to it..I have Brain cancer and I was on a bit too long last night trying to figure that out...The Wife said I lost track of a couple of hours. I will hit it again soon..Wife wants me to stay off here for a few more days..We are going on a real train trip next weekend and she doesnt want me to mess that up..See Ya All!

Trains will do that to you, Your wife doesn't know you have the most addicting program on your computer right now.
To uncouple...
Go to an outside view.
Put the mouse cursor over the coupler you want to disconnect.
The coupler will turn red.
Click on it with the left mouse button while pulling your train away.
You need to put the brakes on the car though before it rolls away.
Click on the parked car and press the A key to apply the brakes.

I must in a place it wont let me decouple..I dont know..I am holding the ctrlD down the whole time..the red coupler comes up and as soon as I left click it it goes off. I got on a couple minutes while the Wife didnt know..LOL...Im in the tutorial area is where im using it..for some reason all of a sudden the W key moves me backwords and the X moves me forward as well. I'll keep at it..TAKE CARE!!

I went to scenarios and it works perfect...so it must be just that area..THANKS AGAIN SNIPER!!!!
