Hump Yard Crashes Cars

I have downloaded the route UM E-W Hump Yard TANE.
It´s working fine in TANE But in TRS 19 or 22 When the single cars are making contact they often crashes, 29 of 50.
The settings are Derailment mode: None , And tryed change the settings in the rule: Vehicle physics.
So I am looking for a way to overrule the crashing of coupling cars.
Hope someone can help

Sorry to hear about that. I think you're referring to my route but since you're talking about newer versions of Trainz I have no idea. It looks like there's been a few downloads so hopefully someone else can help.

How fast are the cars travelling?

I don´t know, How do I measure that ?
After testing it seems that the rule: Vehicle Physics are not working?
So can´t override the coupling crash speed.

The train speed is displayed in the HUD along the bottom. Pressing the G-key changes from Imperial to metric or vice versa.

You can remove the rule from your session.

Go back to the Routes menu.
Click on the route.
Click on View Sessions on the far right.
Click on the Session now in view.
Click on Edit Session.

In the upper left, second icon in from the left is where the edit route, edit environment, and edit session is located. (I know it's confusing because the naming is similar).

Click on Edit Session...

This will give you a screen with driver setup, etc.

In there you will see the rules such as the Vehicle Physics rule.

Click on that and delete it. There will be a confirmation (I think, going from memory). Yes, you want to remove it.

Once done, close that screen and save the session. If it's not your session, you'll get a prompt to save the session and create a new route. Do so and use that one going forward. If not, then this session will be overwritten.

Hi

There is a directional speed retarder on the DLS by author Christopher824, kuid:647907:100950 which allows you to control the speed that an item of rolling stock will leave the retarder. The default setting is 3 meters / sec which allows rolling stock to move at a steady pace along the track. If the track falls along its length then most wagons will keep rolling along until they reach another wagon.

Note that the speed can be set so you can have a number of the retarders along the track to keep everything rolling along with the last retarder set to perhaps 2 meters/sec to slow them down and prevent them derailing.

These will do what you want but it is largely a question of trial and error until you get the effect that you want. Note that this is one of a number of commands that allow you to set up a totally automated hump yard. Thank for the replys.

After testing with the speed retarder I found out that a speed of 3.5 meters / sec, is working, Speed retarders placed just before the splinepoints before the first retarders.

I had to change the slope of the tracks, I could see that the railcars was accelerating down hill,

I removed the two first retarders and made a single track from the spline just before the first retarder and down toteh splinepoint just before the last retarder, without any splinepoints, the gradient was 0.47 between the retarders and retarders level, to 0.19.

The test was run with the 60ft. PS2 4750 Hopper, There were a few that stopped up to 120 feet from the end retarder, I also moved the retarders so they are on line across the yard, because I like to make same lenght consists, in this case 2500 feet. I also found that there were some small diferences in how the cars were running down hill when I used a mix cartypes. The Humptower don´t like 40 feet cars, sometimes they kept hanging and the train just drowe the other way, the shortest car i have run succesfull are 48 feet.

Maybe all types can be run with more tweeking.

So there are many hours testing ahead!

One thing I forgot to mention in my first reply was I set it up for AI. And had placed a 5 mph speed limit ahead of the hump tower. I don't know if you're manually driving it or not, but the max speed in miles per hour should be 5mph.
Take care
