How to "change" track I can't ID?

Hi All,

I have downloaded a layout, "Altamont Commuter Express" from the DLS. Only the layout, NO attacments, so it only uses TS2009 built in content. Aparently most of the track used is not built in. However something that fully functions as track except for apearance is on the right of way. It is like a series of light grey equal signs looking something like this: =============. The lines are properly spaced for rails. I want to replace this with built in track, probably MP. At first I thought it was some form of invisible track but it looks the same in Driver.
No problem, right? Just use the automated replace function. Nope.
I used the get (?) tool to identify it so I could replace it. It won't "get" it. I tried it in every mode get was in and no go. Yes I could delete and replace every section of track from Tracy to Fremont but would rather not do it that way.

What is this "track"?

Have you looked in cmp for any missing assets for that route? Note the kuids that are greyed out with a question mark. One of these maybe the missing track, what you are seeing may be the track but with a missing mesh or something, so cant be replaced. You will need to locate the missing track and download before you can replace it.

There has got to be a better way. What if the object is not available any more? Or it is a payware object?

Knowing the missing kuid, could a dummy object be created with the bare minimum details to fool trainz into replacing it? Or just copy an existing track, modify the kuid to match and then replace it in Surveyor?

Hmmm...

I supose it could be DLS track with the mesh missing. I downloaded with CM2 and hit stop as soon as the layout minus dependencies finished. It could be I was a split second late and loaded the track without it's mesh.

Hmmm..:o

At least it shows me exactly where to lay the built in track.
