While I was surfing the web trying to figure how to break 3GB limit on 32bit, I came across this article,
It's pretty useful though, give it a shot, it worked on me, and thus saving my time on installing contents all day:)
My newest computer spec was
Intel i7 3770k for 200
Asus P8Z77-V Pro for 130
EVGA Geforce GTX670 FTW for 350
Corsair Vengeance (2X8) 16GB for 60
Corsair H60 Water Cooler for 60
Antec 750 Watt for 75
Diablotek EVO Mid tower for 20
now Vista and Win7 only recognizes only 3GB, 13GB of RAM lost:'(

John's exactly right. This was a big issue back when XP was the standard, mostly because XP 64-bit version wasn't very compatible with app installers and such. That's why XP 64-bit was mostly used for software development, database and other memory-intensive work. Win7-64 doesn't have those problems.

It's a common fact that 32-bit Windows versions will only read ~3.5GB of memory. You need a 64-bit version to read higher than that.

Occams Razor says that " All things being equal, the most obvious solution to a question is also usually the correct one". The obvious solution to this question is to get a 64 bit OS. Just make sure it isn't Windows 8 :n:
