How to Accuratly Place Treez in a Route

It depends (I think) on how much vertical adjustment is applied. I am currently building a small route in TS2010 (44088) in which I repeatedly use a single model comprising clump of 4 medium sized bushes surrounded by about 100 'seedling' bushes. I don't like the way the seedlings look so I bury the clump just enough to put thee seedlings below ground level, varying the height of what's left by about .4m. When pasted some of the clumps are down where they belong, but more'n half are at 0.00 and need dug down manually. Possibly it's the deeper ones that stay put, the shallower ones pop back out.

When applying grass clumps I generally only lower them by about .2 or so and they definitely all return to 0.00...

G.day Andy,

To be perfectly honest, I only tried it on perfectly flat terain, so if the terain undulates , that could be an issue as wel. mormal c&P co0mforms to the terain, I planted thousands of threes that way on mountains, but I haven't tried adjusted height assets there yet.

Hae a good one,

Hi All: I just used the copy and paste and I pushed the paste height button and it seemed to have followed the terrain OK..After I had made my selection..

Hi Bob - 'Paste Height' works fine - that's the elevation of the landscape itself.

What seems a bit problematical is pasting scenery objects which have had their height adjusted. Say you lower a tree till it looks like a shrub - pasting it sometimes results in a full height tree, sometimes you get the 'shrub'. Working out exactly why the result varies from one object to another - or from one pasting to another - is elusive...

Andy ;)
