How do you set up a steel industry

As far as i know there aren't any buildings on the download station.

Also what trains do you use for each commodity

There are tons of buildings. Get creative with your search words. Search steel, mill, factory, ect. I don't think there are many industry active buildings, but you can use multi-industry track. A huge mill is called "continuous" something or another. Search continuous. Long Factory is another nice building.

Ok but how do you use multi industry then?
I really haven't set them up my self yet. I know a few things can be tricky. There are probably tutorials on the forums somewhere. I will see if I can find one, but the search button is a valuable tool. Also search the DLS for "coil". There's some unloaders and products.

IndustRail has a fully functioning steel works. In the documentation package for the route there is a description about how it works.

To see the route, go here:

Ok i get that, so how would i use the multi industry to make all those commodities and is there specific rolling stock for each?

Yes there is a whole heap of rolling stock I would recommend.

For starters, search the Download Station using "maddy25" as the author. She has done some really excellent rolling stock for use in steel works.

As for SP1, are you sure you have the correct version?

I'd suggest a fresh install, check to see which version of TRS2009 you have (bottom right corner at intro screen) and then install the patch. See here:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=38749

When doing the original install and patching I'd also recommend turning off your anti-virus. Remember to turn it on again afterwards.

Did you get my tutorial about interactive industries?

Tell me if this helps.

VMD, payware. Unfortunately doesn't work in TRS2009.
