How do they do it?

I was running the UMR 2013 session again tonight, and I wondered about how some things are done in trainz when creating a route, not that I would have the talent or the patience to ever create any kind of route. What I wondered about is, how is the Ai car and truck traffic created? Does each vehicle have to be programmed to run on each and every road, because that seems like an impossible task. The other question, is that on this route, I see flocks of geese flying along very realistically ( first time I have seen that) . How is that done in Trainz?

In the 3D program they use, they animate it to make it move in Trainz. As for the roads, that confuses me too. O.o

AI drive commands include a variety of options including drive to or navigate to: an industry, a named locastion, a trackmark or naviagate via a trackmark. How the train gets there is up to the AI program, usually trys to take the shortest route.

I do AI train traffic all the time, I was specifically asking about auto-truck-bus traffic on roads and flying geese.

The traffic on the road is included in some of the Region you choose when you create a route, but not all the regions include traffic, this includes the default region.

There are also some vehicles that can run on invisible rails that are placed along roads which can be controlled like the locomotives.

The flying geese are assets under scenery and you can also find other birds and sounds which can be placed on your route.
