How do I use PEV's attachment maker?

SUBWAY125

F40PH Lover!
Hi guys. I downloaded PEV's attachment maker and I have a question:
What do I type for the attachment when I add a cab for something?
Please respond to this thread
Thank you:wave:

Hey fellow dinky fan! You'll have to be more specific as to the asset in order to determine what attachment point, if any, is needed and where on the mesh it will go. Also, sometimes it's better off deleting a questionable attachment point rather than adding one.

FYI, this question would be better posted in Content Creation as this forum (Parts & Labour) is more hardware-oriented.

Well, I want to add a cab view to a Marc cab car. What do I have to do to make the cab work right?

AttachmentMaker is used for inserting missing attachment points when one gets an error. I haven't used it to manufacture new attachments there were never intended to be there (e.g. attaching cabs or anything else to a model, which is what it sounds like you are trying to do - correct me if I'm wrong) but, then again, I haven't really tried very much. I think there might be a lot more to it than just adding attachment points (for one, I see the asset kind is "interior") and there must be a way for the cab asset to be specified as a child object of the locomotive asset, which is something AttachmentMaker won't do.

I did add a cab to it. But, it's invisible:'( . Anyone know a program that can do this BESIDES gmax and 3dsmax?

Yes it will fix missing attachments but the main intention for writing it was to ADD NEW Attachments.... The hardest part being getting the the tags and wording for connection between the attachment mesh and what's attached to it in the config.txt.

I've only provided a tool for you to do this. You need to learn how the config.txt data works for attachments. Look at the config.txt for cab interiors to get a few clues.

well i've done that part once, and it worked for me! one thing you need to do is that, add a attachment, then move the attachment to where it should be, then name the AT Point "a.cabfront". Once done, go to CCP, Then Add the following tags:
  • enginespec (I recommend change from 'default_wagon' to 'F7')
  • enginesound (use the NULL enginesound from robin_hoods, located on the DLS. Search & download kuid:67585:1313)
  • interior (use the 'Bilevel push-pull cabcar interior' from sniper297, also on DLS)
  • attachments contaner (add the 'attachments' mesh into the mesh container)

Ok. I was poking around TCR a few days ago and heard about your program so I installed it. So its for making new cabs not adding cabs?
