For some unknown reason 2 paint shed items I created from paint shed are now
black. I have an old backup of tr2009 folder where thouse 2 items are still good. How do I find them and transfer them to my current up to date folder? 2009
does not show the kuid numbers so an item can be identified. Thanks rrbobby.

This is a tough one, Rob.

You can get the asset number of the item in CM, but the way Content Manager works, there's no way to see the Assets listed without importing the whole load of assets.

Do you remember what the asset is? Perhaps it's available on the DLS.

Thanks for your reply. I created these 2 items in paint shed. They are unique in collor and name and are not on the DLS. They are still ok and are in a backup
tr2009 folder. This is the only copy I have of them. This happened once before
and I was able to retreave them but don't remember how. I thought I opened
them for edit and found them there in the backup under edit. But that doesn't
work now. rrbobby

Backing up and reimporting the assets should be easy enough. Go to Start->Run and navigate to your backup copy of ContentManager.exe and run it. You can check to be sure if it IS the correct CMP running but looking for assets that you had in your old installation that you don't in your current one, or vice versa. Then just right-click the reskins and select Save to CDP. I suggest emailing these to yourself or some other form of backup since this seems to be a recurring issue. Now you can just close out of CMP, wait a few minutes for TADDaemon to shut down, and open your regular Trainz CMP (check if it's the right one) and import the assets.

2009 does not show the kuid numbers so an item can be identified. Thanks rrbobby.

In CM if you right click on the empty part of the bar beside author id you will get a list of columns one of which is Asset kuid. The list can also be found under View - Columns. Unfortunately this change does not seem to be saved anywhere and you have to repeat each time you open CM.

If you know the name or part name of the files you are looking for a search of your backed up folder in Computer might come up with the location of the files. You should then be able to copy the necessary files or "import content" from the location found .

The import CDP's is blanked out. Did I miss somthing? rrbobby

Hmm, that's strange. But you were able to export the CDP from the old installation successfully, correct?

Perhaps try selecting Import Content as well. Or simply double-clicking on the CDP file since your file associations, I assume, point to your current TS2009 installation.

Let us know what happens.
