How do I Make Turntables work in Surveyor?

Ok, so I'm back into trains after almost 10 years away. I's kind of amazing how much I remember.
One thing I don't recall having so many problems with in the past, is getting turntables to work.

My default install of Trains 12 came with a turntable with only 2 spline points spaced 180 degrees from each other. How do I connect more tracks?
I tried downloading several other turntables from the download station with multiple spline points to connect to, but on every one of them, in a driver session, as soon as the loco hits the spline point it shoots off in a straight line at 1000 MPH!

What am I missing here? Why is this so hard to do?

Go to the Download Station and find some invisible speed signs and place them on the lead to the turntable. I use biddle's '005mph invisible', <kuid:142454:23001>. He has invisible speed signs going from 5mph to 125mph, in 5mph increments.

I just want to make sure I'm clear on this. Nothing is automated. This is just one engine that I am driving that does this. Seems like a strange fix for a manually driven engine.
I literally just started the layout. I have a turntable, 300 ft of track and one engine. that's it. The problem is coming off the turntable onto the track.

I've made a goodly number of turntables and I've never heard of one doing this. Speed is strictly determined by the loco - not the turntable. If you only have one loco doing this (meaning other locos don't) the loco is the problem - not the turntable.

The default turntable you refer to only has the two spline points, no additional tracks can be added.

What you need is one of bendorsey's, or one of the 120ft turntables, or the AJS turntables (probably others as well) which all come with multiple attachment points. They all require turntable stub tracks to create an attachment for your track, you cannot attach the track directly to the turntable without one of these or the locomotive will derail which sounds like what you are seeing.

Thanks guys,
dnevans8, I see what you mean.
Turns out this was another weirdness that corrected itself after another reboot. I find I have to do that a lot with this game. I've already installed it a second time and am in about the 5th reboot. Things finally seem a bit more stable.
Thanks for your help.
