It depends which version of Trainz you are running. Generally speaking 2.5 gigs of memory helps, dual or quad core if you are running TS2009, setting the performance sliders away from highest detail. Being more selective about which assets you use.

Step one which cpu, memory, video card do you have and which operating system?
