How do i know what service pack i have.

How do i know what service pack i have on trainz. If i need the latest one where do i download and is it free? Last if i have not got sp4 is this why some content has errors.

To know what Build# or Service Pack do the following:

Start Trainz. On the menu screen look at the bottom right hand corner for a 5 digit number. This is your Build#. With this information check what SP's match with that same number.

All SP's are free to Trainz users. To find download locations check the Auran Announcements section of the Forum for SP's for your version of Trainz.

Yes. If you don't have the correct verions/build#(SP) of Trainz as the content creator used the content will not work correctly, if not at all.

This is getting a little ridicolou. I can't even get a sp4 for my trainz. it is build 38869 and it keeps aborting the patch.

Hi,
Build 38869 is the Just Trains version of TRS2009.

There is a service pack available on their website (support section) that will patch it to a version that is then part of the Auran main patching

Remember that the patching is more reliable with your virus checker turn off.
It will also take some time.

uracco, this is the series of patches you must install to get up to SP4.

Patch 1: http://www.justtrains.net/faqs.asp?drdProduct=205#Update393 (this will take you to SP2 - build 40040)

Patch 2: http://download.ts2009.com/Beta/40040_to_41844.exe (this will take you to SP3 - build 41844) - Note: You must be running DirectX 9.0C August 2009 or later to install this patch.

Patch 3: http://download.ts2009.com/patch/41844_to_44653.exe (this will take you to SP4 - build 44653) Warning: Large patch - may take several hours to install

It will tell you if you haven't got the right one - DirectX 9.0C August 2009 or later will be required. This will run alongside DirectX 11.

Be aware though that dxdiag will only tell you that DirectX 11 is installed.

No you need DirecX9c as well DirectX11 isn't fully backwards compatible with all cards.

Did you remember to save the patch, not run it directly from the server?

Remember, it's a big patch.

If it still rejects it, run a disk check.
