How can I get sleepers, rails, and spikes?

I have a nine acre estate in the country, and I'd like to make a little hand-car and drive it on a little track around the estate. I know how to get gravel, but I need sleepers, rails, and spikes and railshoes to build a track.
Can I get these from Canadian National Railways in Halifax?

Not shure 'bout canada, but here in the States there are shops scatered throughout the country that sell old railroad items. Ties in usable shape, tieplates (shoes), spikes, and rail. There are at least 3 of such stores down here in the DFW area of North Texas. They are usualy called "Rail Surplus Store" or something along that.

Again, not shure about Canada, but Its the best I can do.

Building a RR track in your backyard would be a astronomical cost as full scale RR ties would cost dozens of dollars each (unless they were half rotted) ! Actual rail would be very costly, the price of scrap isn't cheap. And moving these large items to and about your premisis would require machinery or lots of manpower.

There are several miniature 1/2 scalers, that have built pretty cool backyard RR's. Look for their sites on Google.

There are several putt putt MOW motor car clubs who own hand and powered MOW equipment and transport them on a trailer to abandoned RR lines that have given explicit written permission for club members to run their equipment on. There are several Speeder clubs, and dozens of YouTube videos on 1/2 scale, and Speeder excursions. There are kits that convert a bicycle to rail operation (Caution: Do not use on active rail lines) !
