Hooking up cars

My son and I are looking for a new train simulator. One requirement is that we be able hook and unhook cars in a train yard. Does Trainz have that functionality?

There are hump yards, and classification yards...I'll get a strong cup of Joe in my system, and I'll be able to think up some routes.

Search "Enola Yard" on the "Auran black DLS pages" I think it has 2 humps in the East & Westbound classification yards.

USLW-NS Reading Line route has a hump yard in Allentown, as well as a big yard at the other end in Reading. Both the smaller route, and the larger more complete route are fantastic, but have hundereds of assts, and take a long while to finish downloading, without a FCT.

You can build a hump yard on your own, it is quite easy...it's just a short, very slight hill, 2 mph should just enough to get cars rolling downhill towards the class yard at 10 mph.

Yes it does. You can either drive the loco yourself or get the AI (Artificial Intelligence) drivers to do it for you by giving them instructions on what to couple to. Or do both at the same time!

But of course - it is a simulation of railroading, and isn't that what happens all the time on real railroads?

Not only that, but you can also load and unload various products at industries, and passengers at stations. You can also create your own layouts with all these and many other features.

This sim is well worth getting.
Its just sooo flexible
