HOG Textures in TRS2006

I have downloaded some great terrain-only routes by fishlipsatwork...

"This is a terrain only file for the route from ... to ... This is so you can make this route without having to generate the terrain by hand.
It was generated with the Hog utility and has Tiger lines installed, So you will need the Hog textures installed to see them in Surveyor."

...I then downloaded the Hog Textures from his website and the content is clearly for TRS2004 as illustrated in this photo. I realize the layout (terrain) will open just fine, but...

I guess my question is this: Can I 'Import Content' as it exists in the textures.zip file into CMP and call it good? Or, do I need to do something different to be able to see the Tiger lines in TRS2006?

(Question being asked by someone who just signed-up today for the HOG/MicroDem 101 class; completely ignorant on this topic... but, not for long)

Import the stuff with CMP and you should be fine.

It's a specific function of Hog (and TransDEM) that the minimap reflects the TIGER lines or topo map but the terrain does not. The terrain surface relies on the ground texture set being available. The (initial) minimap image is always created independently by Hog or TransDEM.

Thanks much...

I think I got that. You mean that I would see Tiger lines on the minimap regardless, but installing the Hog textures will allow me to see them on the terrain as well?

I'm trying to work on a terrain map project for the first time myself, I downloaded the hog textures and used the import content feature in CDP. I got all of the asset installed feedback messages but when I go back into trains I still dont' see the textures. can someone help me please?

You don't mention where the terrain map came from... Something you developed yourself or something you downloaded?
