HOG/DEM routes

There are many such out there. Fishlipsatwork did a lot of them (www.fishlips.net/trainz), and recently I discovered some at checkrails.com. With these routes there is that little problem described in this thread: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?53749-first-microDem-and-HOG-results&highlight=merge.
Will say that there are those ridges in Andy's routes. Above-mentioned thread has a solution to this problem, but when the terrain has already been converted to a Trainz route it is by far too late for this solution. Is it really (particularly for a Mac Trainzer)?
If there are any other sites with HOG/DEM routes please tell me.

The ridges (or sometimes troughs) along board joins in HOG maps is caused by the way HOG references the outside edge of the grid squares along one (or two, I forget) edges of each board. It is a necessary evil of that method of route creation and is truly not a big issue. Sorting the terrain near the track takes moments each time a ridge/rough is encountered and farther back from the track almost all of them pretty much disappear visually after the application of ground textures. If you could be bothered the 'problem' can be minimized by merging the HOG route to a blank board, but I honestly find that fixing the occasional issue as I build the route is quicker and easier than the 'merge' solution.

If you want a DEM route without these issues then TransDEM is the answer...
