Help with version

I've just installed TS2010EE on a Toshiba Qosmio X500 with Win7 and when I start the program I get the message Trainz build is out of date in the bottom left corner. I have been unable to determine what version I have. I have downloaded SP1, SP2 & SP3 and attempted to run but they all say:

This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.
No valid patch operation was specified. Patching aborted.

I've tried options from the main menu and Patch Trainz - this always downloads and then fails. I've moved the file into the TS2010 folder but it still fails.

Lastly TS2010 starts okay with an initial flurry of screen resolution changes then it is okay for a while, but they it resizes to 1/4 of screen size.

I have to say my experience with TS2010 has been disappointing.

The bulid number is shown bottom right on the launcher screen.
Try running trainz at your screens default resolution.

Also, make sure you are running Trainz as admin.

To do this:

1.Right-click the Trainz shortcut.
2.Click Properties.
3.Click Compatibility.
4.Click in the box labelled 'run this program as an administrator' to place a tick.
5.Click OK, then click Continue if prompted.

Thanks guys,

Have made some progress.
I'm running at default resolution and have checked the run as admin.
I'm now at:

from 42203 to 43434...
Failed to patch builtin\1.ja, file contents do not match
Failed to apply the patch: 42203_to_43434
Patching aborted.

I was wondering that one as well - normally, that error only happens after a previous failed patch attempt without reinstalling after the failed patch.

I've finally managed to get patched up to 44088, though there was a page of asset error comments on the patcher.
It required a registry clean before I could do this.

The program is very slow to load after selecting start. Takes ~10min and the same again once a route is loading. I did a restart after the patch had been installed.

I have also managed to get pop ups of train / drivers combos. After closing ~ 25 it was back to the task manager to get out of this.

I'm thinking the program needs to be reinstalled

Great program so far.

Taking way to long to load, try using CM and do an extended data base repair, use (file) top left and select edr.
Every time you force trainz to stop it'll take ages to load, try to avoid.
From launching trainz to getting into a route in surveyor to edit takes about 30 secs (thats me), just to give you an idea.
