In working on my train route, i have wanted to have signs along the roads, but i am unable to find some and lack the knowledge to create them. The kind of signs i am looking for are USA guide signs. These signs create by Transportfan are awesome, but i am unsure how to edit them and put my own name in them. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Also, i was looking for something similar to these signs

If anyone can make these so there is an arrow pointing left, right and straignt, and they are renameable, that would be awesome! I know there are the Signpost local/public ect. and i tried those but i was looking for something with only one side.

Thanks guys!

also, if you want, i'll post pictures of my layout sometime, but im still working on it :)

if you're using TRS06, then with the first ones, when you place them , in the menu bar at the side there's a button with a question mark in it, click that and click on the sign, it should be the line of text at the top to rename it.

Be very careful with signs as a number on the DLS use multiple textures and are fairly high poly which can kill your frame rates.

The easiest way is to reskin an existing basic sign. Look far a suitable one with a small .im file or do the poly count thing in TC3 and a single texture file.

Paint.net is free can be used to edit .tga files and can be used for reskins. Gimp is also free and has about the best lettering capabilities of any graphics program I've seen. You can use the eye dropper to select the letterings colour then change the font size and the text changes it's size on the image, use M for move to move the leering but select move the active layer so it just moves the lettering. When you save the .tga with GIMP make sure you save it without RLE compression and alpha channel. Gimp adds alpha channelwhen you add a second layer to remove it, layer, transparency, remove alpha channel.
