HELP!!! What's with all the HELP!! Posts??

With a lot of the banter of the old days not being allowed on these forums these days, if you take away threads where people are asking for help and others are helping them, there really won't be a lot left of this forum.

This place has always taken pride in the friendly help the community is always willing to give, and long may it stay that way.

If you're not happy reading "Help" posts then don't read them.
In the meantime, the rest of us will help those who need it.

Smiley.

You guys missed the whole point - nobody is objecting to requests for help. Two scenarios;

1. A kid don't know how to tie his shoes, he says "will you tie my shoes for me?" or "will you show me how to tie my shoes?" most people would be inclined to help.

2. A different kid don't know how to tie his shoes, so he screams

HELP!!! MY SHOELACES ARE UNTIED!!!

Then he runs over to break the glass and pull the fire alarm.

In that situation I would be more inclined to explain the difference between a routine minor problem and an actual emergency rather than just tying his shoes for him - otherwise the lesson he learns is always pull the fire alarm, you'll get whatever attention you want faster that way.

Yup, as usual the 'politically correct crowd' have jumped in without reading the thread properly, for those that are saying "shame on you for not helping", that is not the topic, to re-iterate, the topic is just yelling HELP!!! in the thread title, that is of no use to any-one, and if you stop and think before you jump on us we are trying to help these people by explaining how to ask for it in the first place.
And as far as the old forums are concerned they have gone, and do you remember what they were like just before they went, locked and deleted threads were almost an hourly occurrence and why did they get rid of the 'community off topic' area if we were all so polite and perfect ???

Cheers David
