Help - Database errors whenn performing repair and no driver button anymore

Hi all,
I have a replacement gaming computer and installed TRS2010 on it.
I then archived my routes from my old computer and tried to restore them on to my new computer where everything went horribly horribly wrong.

Not only did the roues not come across properly, but now I dont have teh drive button from the main menu when you first start teh game.

Whenever I run database repair in content manager I get about 1271 errors.
I also tried creating a CDP of the route and installing that - but i think that made it worse.

I have attached some links to the screen showing the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

i dont have this either.... try using the tool that takes you from surveyor to driver on the session you want to run

All those "don't match database" errors are a complete waste of time and effort. They don't mean a thing. Ignore them.

Hi - thanks for the responses.

The problem I have is i can get to the routes through surveyor - but a lot of bits are missing - even from the routes that were there before.

The i noticed that the assets giving the errors were the built in ones.

I have taken a backup of my directory, uninstalled Trainz and am in the process of re-installing. Hopefully that will fix the built in assets and the routes will come back to life.

Worth a shot anyway.

Hope that works for you. If not, then try getting CMP open and highlight all the built-in problem items and choose "Edit -> Revert to Original". That may work.

Hi Again.

Ok - re-installing made it worse - so i dont recommend that to anyone.

Thankfully I made a backup of the directory before re-installing - so was able to restore my install to where it was.

Now - I have been trying your suggestion HiBaller to revert to the ordiginals for the built in content it that appears to be working. I am in the process of locating and reverting the faulty built in content.

The one thing which I have gleaned from this is make sure you have a working backup before you do any major stuff like importing your layouts from another install... just in case :)

I'll keep you posted.

HiBaller you're a Star!!

Reverting to the originals saved the routes - the one I was trying to import across didnt come across - but thats ok - I can now work on getting that one to work.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Did you just copy your local folders to the new installation? This doesn't always work.

In the future, import your content into a new installation. This will ensure that all the content is merged properly into the database.
