Hi,

I've found one or two references two the metre gauge lines in the Harz mountains, and gerd's excellent loco's - but how much else is out there? Can anyone recommend a good german style metre gauge route? Don't mind whether it's free or payware.

Many thanks,

Anthony

Aside from the line running through the Harz mountains (very pretty place in summer), there are nearly no more 1000MM railways in Germany. Before 1930 they were everywhere, a large chunk of the rail network north of the Rhein - Ruhr region was 1000MM. But come the war and the miracle of economic rebirth (in which everyone who could bought a VW Beetle) a lot of them were abandoned, the companies were disolved, or the lines were converted to standard gauge in a few places. The only lines that are still in regular operation (not just museum trains) are the Harzquerbahn and the Brohltalbahn, the latter of which only does freight trains hauling volcanic rock to the mainline.

As for German 1000MM rail stuff in Trainz, there doesn't exist as much as there should. Gerd has made some track and locos (including 3 rail 1000+1435MM track), and Vasquez also has made some wagons. But beyond that there doesn't exist much. The only layout I know of is by ccotto, he is trying to make the Harzquerbahn in Trainz, but it has yet to be finished.
