H2O is Weird, Woe is Me.

I can't figure it out. My old computer was terrible. My frame rates almost caused me to give up on Trainz. After getting used to Vista, which people on here told me to accept because it's actually not bad, my new system is great. So far the water is my only complaint. Do you have Vista?

Hi all
Please try turning the anti-aliasing off in the Trainz settings (the options accessed from the launcher screen). If this doesn't fix it, then try turning the anti-aliasing in your video card off as well.

Please let us know how you go.

I failed to mention I am running TRS06, I see no way to turn it off from the options screen when launching. Will doing it from my video card affect the graphics on other games or programs?

A good question however the current Nvidia drivers have the option to set up the card per application so tuning it off for Trainz only shouldn't have any effect on other games, not sure about ATI as not used one for a long time.

Hi Motorbreath

As mentioned previously, you will need to go into the video card's control panel (this is normally able to be opened either from an icon on the taskbar's tray (next to the clock) or by right clicking on the desktop) and then turn off Anti-Aliasing for Trainz. This may vary depending on what card and/or manufacturer you have.

I have an ATI card, I guess. That's the sticker on this thing. I got in to a control panel, but found nothing on the subject.

I had a similar problem after an nvidia driver update.
I switched from directx to opengl and the water is displaying correctly

Motorbreath,

The current "control centre" for ATI cards is called "Catalyst ...".

On mine there is an option to change the anti-aliasing. You have to expand the tree view on the left side to find it.
