Guildford to Alton, can't make my mind up

Mid Hants Fireman
Hi guys,

Now that i have finished school (:D ) i thought that a nice thing to do would be to make a long route. I thought about waterloo to woking or woking to portsmouth but then it struck me. I could do guildford to alton and then merge the route with my mid hants railway (thats still not complete and i've been working on tht for ages).

I can't make my mind up what time peroid to base it on. I would like to base it on the last year or two of steam so 1965-67. Then i thought i would have to modifie my mid hants route to make it the right time period as this is set in then modern day. The other problem is the landscape. For the mid hants railway someone made a DEM map or what ever it is called, for me and helped me lay the track because i didn't understand how to do it. Would anyone here be able to make a map for me? and then teach me how to lay the track so all the cuttings and embanks etc are correct.

Thanks
Tom

i rode the Mid-Hants railway this summer and would be interested in seeing your route, do you think you could post some shots in the screenshots section?:)

Hi, I am planning on doing Guildford <> Waterloo, but now thinking of Guildford<>Woking to avoid London. I would also look forward to seeing some screenshots, and possiblly merging. Jonny.

Screen shots

Will see what I can do the Date of my route is mid 50's ish although i have used a bit of artistic licence with the layouts of the track as it change many times over the short life of the line.
