Grumpy Old Trainz Addict
Greetings all!

I am building a new system just for trainz. I have a
MB ASUS|P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) P67 and a CPU INTEL|CORE I5 2500K 3.3G 6M R in hand. I am buying parts month to month and am glad to spend what I need to for the right components to build an optimal system for Trainz.

I also have 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 1 T Hard drives.

My next purchase is a video card. I was going to use my GTX 260, but, as I read the posts it seems that that old work horse may be a little puny. I am willing to spend $250-$275 US give or take.

Guide me!!!

I got a GTX570 and its more card than Trainz can appreciate! A great gaming card for a great price. Toss in anther $50 and you'll have a card that'l keep on Trainzin' years from now......

The GTX560 ti I use handles trainz well, bags of power to spare.
Bear in mind the psu,, the 560ti needs 2 6 pin power connectors, a psu of 500w or greater with a minimum 12v current rating of 30 amps.

I'd agree with the posts above, the GTX570 is a monster card currently rated no2 by Passmark, which I currrently use in my rig (specs in sig).

Seeing is believing:-

I'm astonished it outperforms the GTX 590 tbo. Deffo the card of choice for your er, buck?

Edit : Oh, it needs juice...I use a 750Watt PSU, bear that in mind if you have an old weedy one :)
