Guessing (the area I) game

Routelayer Ordinaire...
Hi All,

These screenies come from a route I started working on yesterday, one which I swear I will finish and upload to the DLS. It should be doable because I'm trying hard to keep it small (small enough to set AI trains on but not really long enough to drive on). I will start another thread about this map once I have done enough work on it to consider it screenworthy (or until you guys can guess what area I'm building in :D ).

In the meantime, I have a few teasers...heh, so right now, I am wondering...which one of you can guess where it's located? :hehe:

I'll give you a few hints with some pictures (hopefully it wont be too hard or too easy):

1) it's very close to where I grew up and where my folks still live
2) it's in Canada
3) the area saw and continues to see a variety of traffic (if I described it, it might give it away ;) ).

Some clues for you...

Do I get 1000 guesses?

My psychic intuition tells me.......................Winnipeg.:D

Hehe, not bad Mr JimDep...getting warmer. :)

Here's one which will nail it down to the nearest major city

I'm off to bed. Good luck everyone!

Good guesses @ JimDep, Ferrous, sethmcs & Euphod! If I ever get into doing DEM's/HOGS and that stuff (as in lots of money and time) I might try a commuter route or something in Montreal. I am just using googlemaps right now and its hard to get accurate measurements (but still the info is great). I wish I had a DEM/HOG for this as it'd help with accuracy...

Some clues include the GO sign on the waiting booth, the VIA train and the diamond (mind you only locals would be likely to know those).

Jefff944 and Cozmo are correct. :D How did you know Jefff944? We don't need to ask Cozmo how he figured that out. :hehe: After I posted a few of the railpictures, I figured someone would search there to get it. If I had a prize to give, I would be quite happy to give it. I just thought it'd be fun for everyone

Did you like how I renamed the station to help prevent cheaters? :hehe: I was hoping one of you would say "don't cheat :P"

I plan on building maybe 6 kilometres (about 4 miles) for each line. At first, probably from the Mt. Pleasant GO station to the 410 (outskirts of the Brampton GO) on the CN Halton/Weston sub (I don't want to go overboard and am focusing a bit on details/framerates - I could always expand it later from say the Georgetown GO to the Malton GO/Airport/Woodbine Racetrack). As for the ex CP Owen Sound sub/OBRY (Orangeville and Brampton Railway) I plan on building just north of the diamond near the Brampton GO until Steeles (maybe 4-6 kilometres, I'm not sure).

I'll post pictures as they develop in a new thread:

Thanks for playing :D

I'm hard at work at it now...following a very long industry spur which seems to never end. :D

Great guess though. TBH, I didn't think you would be the one to get it.
