Great News! My first screenshot has been sucessfully taken!

As most of you know, my screenshots feature has not worked for sometime, however that is no oonger the case!
I want to thank Euphod for his suggestion sometime ago to use FRAPS.
This has worked great!
However it will not let me use the jpg format unless I buy the full version...you know what that means.
If I ever get a way to buy online, I will buy the full version.
Can sites such as Imageshack or Photobucket convert these images to jpg for me?

Pay On Line ?

Irfanview is free and you can convert any image, to and from, a TGA to a JPG easily...and with Photobucket or Imageshack you can post them. You can edit photos with Gimp...all this stuff is free.

If I insert the line: http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc339/cascaderailroad/FordN5C.jpg in between the ---->
icons, the photo or screenshot will show up on screen in the forums, instead of a link.

Where is this: "My Screenshots Feature" anyway ?

What I was trying to say is that FRAPS requires you to register to get the jpg option, when I press register it opens up the payware page.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions guys.

Why can't you take the Fraps image, and convert it to a JPG using Irfanview ?
Fraps is great for making video's of Trainz. Are you using TRS2006 ? 04, or 09 ?
 
Fraps will only save as a BMP image when it's unregistered. Take your screen shot with fraps, then open that image with Irfanview. Once open in Irfanview you do a "Save As" and save as a JPG image. Then you upload it to photobucket. Or to save the trouble just press "Print Scr" while in Trainz, then navigate to the screenshot folder for your version of Trains, find the pic and open it with Irfanview and do the conversion. (if your using 09 it saves it in JPG format already to save you the effort but the images are over compressed)

The images are listed in the list as "bit-map" already...does the forum support those?

That's why you need to convert then to JPG. Most forum only want you to post JPG or GIF images.

Here's the lines from the CoC on posting screen shots.

18. Posting of images, signature banners and avatars are subject to the Appropriate Content Guidelines and the following conditions:

Screen shots posted to the Trainz Community Discussion Forums should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 800x600 pixels*. Any screen shots that exceed this limit will be modified to links or removed from the post altogether.

*The only exception to this is within the Screenshot forum. Screen shots posted to the Screenshot forum should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, however, if your screen shot exceeds 800x600 you are required to include the maximum resolution used in the title of the thread.

Hello IC,
There is absolutley no need to convert the screenshots to jpg format when putting a screenshot on the forum using imageshack. :) I use FRAPS all the time and just use imageshack to put my screenshots on the forum without converting it to jpg format.
