Gramma's illegal reskins have not been taken down [solved]

I came across mor of Gramma's reskins on the DLS, and I still wonder why they have not been removed.

Try downloading them and you will get a removed message.

Example - <NULL> Unable to search asset <kuid:542976:100600>. Asset removed due to a terms of service violation..

It is probably more useful to leave the asset name in place on the DLS with the notice that is has been "removed" due to a "terms of service" violations than to simply remove it from the DLS completely. That way people will know that they (N3V) are taking action and they will not get the inevitable complaints that assets are being removed from the DLS for "no good reasons".

Might just add a note that is advertised for the TRS 2019 product on the Trainz Portal site:

MORE THAN JUST DRIVING TRAINS
Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 is the most expandable, customisable, extendable train simulator ever created.

"EDIT BUILT-IN ROUTES
In TRS19, you can edit and update all the built-in and "DLC" (payware) routes and sessions. Share your edits with other content owners via the Trainz Download Station".

So anything on the DLS that is freeware may be downloaded by registered users that can be used to make layouts and sessions.
Some 3rd party asset designers allow re-skinning provided that they are only used (hosted) on the Trainz Download Station.

Also many members like to customize dependencies in order to make them function correctly with handy tools like the AssetX program.

It is all about team work using the efforts of non-profit content creators sharing their talented work together.

So when it comes to copyright where is the line drawn?

http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php/Download_Station_License_Agreement

[h=2]Warranties[/h] You warrant to N3V and its Representatives and Related Entities that the New Works that you upload to the Download Station:

(a) are free from all computer viruses;
(b) do not infringe any copyright, patent, trademark or other intellectual property rights of any person;
(c) do not contain any 3D meshes, textures or other computer files created or distributed by N3V that have not been substantially modified; and
(d) are appropriate for download by all members (including minors) of the MyTrainz community.

In other words ask permission unless is states otherwise in the license or description in which case make sure the original author is credited and don't claim it as all your own work.

In the case of this "person" no credit or any indication was ever given that they are not reskins of A.N.Other creators work.

Not sure that talented would apply in this case as they an embarrassment to the original creators high standards.

Being allowed to Edit N3V provided routes and sessions does not give blanket permission to do the same with user created routes or assets.
