Favourite trains 60 & 415
Has anybody heard of google sketchup. Its a 3D modelling program there are lots of models on there of anything. I noticed some really nice trains which would look great if they were converted to trainz obviously with permission anybody know anything about this?

No offence, but did you hear of Search?
It is a great function of this forum and it would have shown you a lot of discussion about it. Can be found in the top right corner of every page on the forum.

Yes, it can be done.
No, you should not do it as 95% of the objects converted from Sketup to Trainz are performance killers; assets with a ridiculous poly count that could be made in a serious tool with (in many cases) less than 50% of the poly's.

This is what can be done with google Sketch up..However, you can use in Trainz but only as a Static object(Display) and you can put into Trainz with a program called Ruby-T-Mix..

Please don't. We looked at one of Bob's locos and the poly count wasn't just 100% more than I'd expect but rather 1,000+%

.skp File can be opened in paint programs 3ds max 2013 and higher series. It is better to draw a polygon reduction to its model for using textures, but you can be inspired by. :)
