You are one of our greatest creators in Trainz ... Hope things turn out for you !
I saw several videos on YouTube on how to jump start a corrupted HD, and how to fix an unreadable HD.
Wow!
That is a heck of a compliment....
I never thought of my self as such... In fact I still think I have a lot to learn.....
I draw my inspiration from those who I think are great (In no particular order): Eastcoasttrainz, Norfolksouthern37, Joram24, Alpha22, Adamovic, Motorbreath, Davesnow, Whitepass, Bdneal, Lilb, Therock, ANL, Matruck, Socalwb, Backyard, Gumbytrainz, Diecastgalore, Sureshot28, Dermmy, Felix_g, El Davo, and I know there are a few I am forgetting to put down.
As I wrote in another thread, the computer is just an annoyance right now. I had a friend who told me (Beat into me) the mantra of having your operating system on one drive and your aps on a second drive. My main drive had windows an a few aps. My Alienware allows for 2 internal drives, so my second drive is a 750 Gb dedicated to trainz and Transdem (Hmmm, wonder what I am doing with that...............).
I also have a external 1 Tb drive I use for some aps, but is mostly for storage, so I have about 90% of my stuff already backed up. I have a few things on the desktop I would like to get back....no big deal if I do not, but it would make life easier.
The biggest hold up is I need to buy a new hard drive on Thursday... Why? Its payday...

So I will get another drive to replace the 500gb that is in La-la land. Heck, its harder finding a replacement Xbox 360 Slim AC adapter than a hard drive for me around here.
As for the Hard Drive that went stupid, apparently Seagate and maxtor have a few drives that thanks to a firmware bug (BSY bug for those who want to look it up) , go into a busy state and stay that way... there is a kit I can get that allows you to use a USB to RS-232 converter to talk to the hard drive via it's RS-232 port and send a command that un-bricks it.... Now that is something I didn't know was SATA drives have a RS-232 port.... its the one with 4 pins that looks like the audio connector on some CD/DVD drives.
All in all, this isn't fatal, more of a pain in the butt and a small delay.
So I will be back at it in a day or two... I am finally getting the chance to catch up on some things I promised people and I won't allow a dead drive to stop me.
