Wats wrong with my gmax?

Looks like you are using OpenGL, Gmax does odd things like that here in OpenGL, rebooting the PC will probably fix it until the next time. Suggest changing to directX and rebooting it has less problems. Preferences, viewport, choose driver, Direct3D. What ever you do don't select HEIDI as it doesn't work in Win7.

HEIDI works fine in Win7,

HEIDI, doesn't work at all here and that's on two different Win7 PC's 64 bit if that makes any difference, need to edit the ini file to get back to DX or OGL as it just crashes to desktop on launch.

Hi Susanaes,

Gmax and Windows Aero don't like each other...
Right-click on "Trainz Asset Creation Studio" icon on your desktop, click on "compatibility" tab and put a "X" (I don't know how to translate it to english :hehe:) as it shown in the picture:

Also, I recommend you to use openGL settings.

Maybe you would be better off learning how to use Blender, according to the high & mighty gurru's on these boards
Blender is the be all & end all, Gmax is "So yesterday", whilst the general consensus on Sketchup is that it's only
used by lazy muppets. :o

I often see that behaviour if I have gmax open, then launch CM/Trainz (to check if a new creation is working) and then flip back to gmax. I think it's because Trainz hogs the graphics driver and causes gmax to lose it. You can re-establish a correct screen in gmax by pressing the 'W' key.

I'm using DirectX. Have't tried HEIDI in a long time, my initial experience with her was a crash to desktop.
