Do you mean a DVT? Are you using any alpha textures? No textures would turn the model completely white, so you could try and remove the textures to see if that is the problem.

If you are using alphas, your masks may be incorrectly sized. If you have performed any mirror operations or flipped some elements, you may have to perform and xform to correct the element.

Can you give us a screen shot of the model from rail yard or TOE and could you give us a screen shot of the texture assignment in GMAX.

This is my DTV

im no expert but i have a sugestion
try checking if you have any error or kuid's missing in the files

hope this helps

The problem is your normals are flipped.

Select the item in gmax that is giving you problems, then click on utilities (little hammer) then click on reset xform. This should fix your problem.

i have done both of these

error or kuid's missing
utilities, then click on reset xform

but no still the same problem

He's got an alpha channel, or bumpmap material. The best idea is to remove both of those for the time being, to see if they are the problem.

EDIT:
It is a DVT NOT a DTV
Driving Van Trailer (according to most sources)

From the image provided, the entire model is inside-out. Did you create each wall as a plane? IF so the planes have been positioned opposite from what they should be. If the model was created as a box then modified to shape then the problem is flipped normals and the reset xform if performed on the object level rather than on a face or element level should correct the problem. Ensure the stack is colapsed prior to the reset xform.

I do agree that the textures should be removed then remapped one at a time to see if they are also causing problems but really believe the problem stems from using planes. I could be wrong though!

Would you be willing to send me the gmax file and textures to look at?

Gmax model problems

When constructing models in any 3D graphics program always make sure your "normals" are facing outward . . .

now how do you the alpha bit

I should of replied earlier, but for gods sakes!! Avoid alpha transparencies!!
To create alphas, punch a hole in the mesh (booleans should be avoided, but it'll do for the moment), then create another plane over the top of it. With this new plane, create a new material, set its opacity to a desired level (0 is transparent, 100 is opaque), then apply the material.

If you want an example, ask me, I'll send you a source.
