Ghost Crossing

Hi;
I am bewildered by a "ghost" grade crossing on my route in progress.
This is TS2009, SP2_RC1, but has been occurring since way back in the SP2 Beta builds, and may have started even before I was running beta builds.

In Driver; When a train reaches a specific location, I hear crossing bells, but there is no grade crossing at that location.

The bells sound like one of the other crossings on the route, but none of the crossings are supposed to be active.
I am going to be running some more tests, and find out whether this "crossing" is always active, or becomes active by some trigger.

Anyone ever had this kind of problem?

Thanks

FW

I've heard these bells on almost all of the routes I've designed... sometimes in the middle of nowhere, with no roads or towns in sight. It's just another of those annoying "sound effects" some programmer (or maybe they come from an asset creator, I'm not sure) that I absolutely hate. Every ONE of my routes, when I start them, I hear a lot of unnecessary crashing and banging like railroad cars bumping together... Even when I'm sitting still---or even when I'm not even near a consist, I hear these irritating noises. Sometimes they'll bang and crash almost constantly for near a minute--- then randomly until I've been in the session for about and hour when they finally cease.

I did find which crossing the bells are being repeated from. I won't get them further along if that crossing isn't active.

There are going to be a certain number of these issues with any software of this size, complexity, and with such a large database of 3rd party content.
I think the best thing to do when you got bells ringing in your head is to shut the game down and do something else. Take a hike, bike ride, drive, whatever.
I have to ask myself why I spend so much time with Trainz. But I think I said it in my signature <g>
