A GEVO is a locomotive ....

The Evolution Series is a line of diesel locomotives built by GE Transportation Systems,

GE= General Electric Transportation, a division of the General Electric Corporation.

Therefore.... GEVO is a General Electric Evolution series locomotive.

.............. GE +VO or G = EVO

Regards,
thank you! for a second i thought i was the only one who knew out of these group of people on this thread

lol no! haha, its ES44DC ES44AC ES40DC ES44C4 ES45DC

Don't forget the ES58ACi and ES59ACi (which should really be ES62ACi, given the naming pattern GE used elsewhere, since it's 6250 hp).

Basically, it's a GEVO if it has a GE GEVO engine in it, be it a GEVO-12 (4400 hp), GEVO-16 (5800/6250 hp) or the as-yet-unused-for-locomotives-afaik GEVO-6 (2300hp) .
