Getting just a little irritated

I have tried twice to post a new, fairly lengthy thread. And twice now, I receive a message telling me I am not authorized to do so. Is it just me, or does this happen to everyone at times?

Is the thread going into a locked or closed forum?
Is your post too long - if so delete every second word then repost - it .. for ..:)

Addendum:

Have you logged into the forum site - if you have just transferred over from the DLS site (where you would have logged in already) you will need to log in again to post in the forums. I have been caught out by this on the odd occasion.

In addition to the above, if your message takes time to write, the forums automatically log out your account, because of 'inactivity'.

Silly, I know, and it catches me out sometimes.

Matt.

If it is a long post, compose it in Notepad first, then copy/paste into the forum window. This saves a lot of frustration. Don't use Word or any other similar, just the basic Notepad.

Hmm, if this is the case, next time you login tick the checkbox 'remember me', or what it's called and you shouldn't have this problem anymore. :hehe:

I know this issue sometimes happens when editing a post - if this is the case, click the 'Advanced' button. (wording on actual button is slightly different)

There is an inactivity limit, but I'm not sure how long it is (probably 5-10 minutes)

Shane

Thanks to all of you for the information. I have checked the "Remember Me" box. I will use notebook for the lengthy posts, and I had to use the "Advanced" button on this post.
Take care,
Joe
