Getting AI drivers to pick up passengers

Can't seem to successfully get this to happen. If I say "drive to" trackmark x station, then "drive to" trackmark y station, driver does a california stop and rolls right through to y. If I say " drive to" then "wait for", driver will stop at the platform and wait, but not load the passengers. If I say "drive to" then "load", driver proceeds to trackmark and stops, and refuses to go further, giving the message of "give a drive to command prior to a load command". Driver JUST EXECUTED the "drive to" command, what gives?

I've tried this both in a quick drive of the route layer, and set up as it's own session with pre-programmed schedules to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

I've always had luck with drive to (insert platform name here), load (or unload), wait for (10 seconds), drive to (insert platform name here)...etc...

a couple of ideas

First, try "navigate to" instead of "drive to". I have no idea if this will help but it can't hurt to try.

Second, does it happen for all trains and stations or just certain ones? I have the same problem with some of the trams and built-in tram stations where you can't increase the starting number of passengers beyond 10 I think. It may be the case that there are insufficient number of passengers waiting and the driver just thinks "not worth it". They slow down and go past the station and then go to full speed after maybe 100 meters past the platform.

I do not have any problem with AJS invisible stations using normal passenger trains and the "navigate to" command.

Do you need just Load or Unload, or both? Does Load let the passengers get off too?

If your using Andi 06's platforms you name+number the platform and also set the dwell (load/unload) time and number of passengers,peak/off peak.
All you need then is Drive to (platform name+number).

Yes, the "navigate to" (platform name) did it. I was placing trackmarks at the platforms for reference, as I didn't know they could go directly to the platform, so the drivers were thinking they were just at some piece of track.

A different frustration; How does one remove a single command from the driver's schedule? I keep making mistakes toward the end, and all I've found to remove them is to clear and start over.

Just drag them off the top of the schedule, they'll disappear.

As well as dragging a command out you can also insert 1. Go to the point in the schedule where it should be r/click the green arrow and place it.

If you want passengers picked up then you have the two options.

1. Drive to (or navigate to or call at) Station [platform #], then load. If you are using AJS platforms then the wait time is programmable.
2. Drive to (or navigate to) Marker (name), then load passengers left (right/both) side for (x) second.

Both scenarios should cause passengers to appear disappear from the platform at which the train has stopped.

Train length may be an issue, so the first option is a good one as the doors not aligned to the platform will remain closed. A good time for a train announcement to passenger in the rear two carriages will need to move forward to the main part of the train. :P :hehe:

Hi, this may be a silly thing to ask but I had the same problem recently with a BR Class 455 i was updating to work in TS12 - does the rolling stock accept passengers? - when I checked the one I was using it was not configured with a queue for passengers.

In surveyor use the ? after you've put 1 on the track, this will tell you.

Hello chrisjohn

Please be so kind and explain the #2 a little more. Which kuid you use for load, so the passengers shows as you said in both scenarios.
