Hello. I've noticed that some roadways generate traffic meaning vehicles, little trucks, etc. Some roads don't. How would I go about generating traffic on roads? Does it have to do with adding specific roadway or certain types of vehicles? I'm somewhat new to this, so i may require a bit more in depth answers to figure this out. Thanks for the time.

Traffic on roads depends on a number of things;

1) Every layout has a Region asset which determines if there will be traffic on the roads. The Default Region is preset to have no traffic. Most other Regions have traffic which will drive on the left if Australia or UK is selected or on the right if a Region such as USA or Germany is selected. You can set or change the map Region in Surveyor (Edit Layout).
2) Most types of roads have traffic but there are some with 'no cars etc' in the asset name. The choice of road therefore affects the amount of traffic running on it.
3) You can switch on or off the traffic by using the button with the car symbol at the bottom of the Scenery Spline Tab when using Surveyor. Don't forget to save the changed map for this change to be effective in Driver.
4) More advanced features can be used to set up your own Regions and list specifically which cars you want and the frequency of the traffic by editing the Config.txt file for the Region, but this is not for the less experienced.

the easiest way to make more traffic to apear on a road is to add more spline points in the road (lay the road then insert spline points) as the traffic is generated from the points. the other (and really better) way is to open the road you want to have more traffic on for edit and adjust the car rate in it's config.

I think that traffic is generally generated at the furthest visible spline point, so that strategy would work most of the time. Bear in mind that using excess spline points is an extra load on the computer.

If you have a non-traffic road, it will still carry traffic, so connecting a trafficked road to the end will work.
