Hi guys. Does anyone know what the top speed is of the Fowler 4F? I decided to install a decoder into an old Airfix one and Im looking to set up the speed limits for it but I have no idea what its top speed would normally be.
Thanks folk

About 50 - 60 mph, I would have thought. Might be a bit of a job hanging on at full speed though, what with the wheels being quite small......

Thanks guys. My son introduced my grandson to the world of model trains a little while back. My grandson then got me back into it. So while helping to get a small layout up for my grandson I decided I wanted to teach him about scale speed. The only way I could do that with a 4 year old that only knows stop and full speed, was to show him what it looks like. Hence going digital. Yesterday I converted an old Airfix Class 31 and a Fowler 4F to digital to do just that. Now all I need to do is set the acceleration curve for those engines. Must say Im enjoying it - its giving me a break from other hobbies. And giving me some quality time with my grandson into the bargin.
