I must say that it's wonderful to see this engine pulling a prototypical consist without a diesel or extra tender tacked on. The video seemed perfectly natural, as the only large congregations of railfans were in Cresco and East Stroudsburg, almost like they were just waiting for a regular passenger train.
NICE - thanks ! I remember when the passenger trains passed our house being hauled up the hill , 14R hauling ten passenger coaches and and it was raining ...continious synchronised wheelsip ...hollow tyres and sand system not working to ease the crews frustration...sometimes us kids put grease and oil on the track to help them cope , you know...
Ps : Monkeys learnt too that when they put sugar cane on the tracks the passing train would tenderise their chow and make life easier for them.

That's what caught my eye too. The almost prototypical consist of old heavyweights made that train look real.
Maybe once the line is rebuilt all the way back to Morrisvile, NJ, they'll be able to do full steam excursions along the Lackawanna Cut-Off. The Cut-Off is one of the projects that's either been started or is on the block to be started.
I didn't take the videos. These were on Youtube and belong to one of the subscribed posters I have on my list. I too would be very scared to put an expensive video camera next to the tracks like that. The train really does look awesome though. Sadly steam ended just as I was born in 1961.
